Pastor John Reynolds
Pastor John recieved his B.S. in Religion, May, 1998, at Liberty University. His Master of Arts in Religion, May, 2000, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and his Master of Divinity, May, 2000, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
He was licensed at Calvary Baptist Church in Denton, Maryland under the leadership of Pastor Don Reynolds, June 2000. He was ordained at Calvary Baptist Church in Denton, Maryland in September 2000 with Dr. Herbert Fitzpatrick (Former Pastor & Founder of Calvary Baptist Church,Connersville, Indiana) serving as moderator. He served as Assistant Pastor at Middletown Baptist Church in Middletown, Delaware from July 2000 to July 2005.
He was saved on July 26, 1981 at the age of five years old. He remembers this event as if it were yesterday. Being raised in a Pastor’s home, He had been introduced to the gospel at a very young age. He remembers going on visitation with his father (Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Denton, MD) to Easton Memorial Hospital. While leaving the parking lot of the hospital, his car door was not secured properly, and he fell out of the car while traveling at a very low rate of speed. It was a very traumatic experience for him.
Upon arriving home, his father was in his office making radio tapes. He marched directly into his office in tears. At this point, his father stopped working on his radio tapes, wrapped his arms around him, and asked him what was wrong. He then asked what would have happened if he would have been killed earlier in the day. His father then responded by presenting the gospel message to him helping him to understand his need for a Savior. He then prayed to accept Christ as his Savior and Lord. The next Sunday his father baptized him.
Upon reaching his adolescent years, he found himself losing perspective of the priorities that both God and his parents wanted for his life. However, in the fall of 1994 during Spiritual Emphasis week, he rededicated his life back to the Lord. At this time, he offered himself to the Lord’s service for the rest of his life.
Over the next two years, God began working in every aspect of his life. On May 26, 1996, under the preaching of Dr. Wayne Greene at Clearview Baptist Church, he surrendered his life to full-time Pastoral ministry. He has a burning desire to preach the gospel more than anything else in the world. He feels that God has equipped him with the gifts to serve Him as a Pastor. He also feels that God has already given him certain opportunities in which He confirmed his call. His desire is to serve the Lord through the Office of Pastor the rest of his earthly life.
On August 7, 1999, he was married to a beautiful, Godly woman named Michelle. Michelle has a passion to serve as a Pastor’s wife. She was also saved at a young age and brought up in a great church(Salisbury Baptist Temple, Salisbury, MD) where she learned to be faithful in serving the Lord. Michelle and John have the same vision of serving the Lord where many lives are changed through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God. He can honestly say in the short time that he has been married and entered full-time ministry, Michelle has proved to be a tremendous asset to his ministry. John and Michelle recently welcomed their first son into their family. Nathan Levi Reynolds was born on February 10, 2006.
His vision is to be a vessel for the Lord Jesus Christ in a church that brings glory and honor to His name. He believes the church should be lead in having a sweet unified spirit, a fervent attitude of prayer, praise, fellowship, outreach using every available means to reach the world with the gospel, committed to discipleship, and staying faithfully committed to proclaim God’s truth.
